The control scheme can include either relay based control for simple applications or PLC based control where more complex processes such as sequencing, interlocking and feedback monitoring are required. Input devices such as level switches, pressure transmitters, temperature sensors, limit switches and flow instruments are wired to the appropriate circuit to prevent signal disturbance. Output circuits for motors, solenoid valves, dosing systems and actuators are also wired in a manner that enables safe, fast response times.
There are distinct auto and manual modes provided for maintenance activity that will not interfere with operation. The door mounted display indicates system healthy status, run status, fault status, and interlock hold points. Internal wiring is structured and numbered for rapid service access.
Prior to shipment, all components are subjected to simulated field conditions such as sensor failure, trip command and restart sequence. Upon installation, the panel will consistently perform in a repeatable manner; therefore, less dependency on operator judgment is needed to maintain operation within pre-defined limits during both load variation and power fluctuations.
