Water process failures are always a slow decline rather than an immediate failure. This happens sometimes when a pump locks out, a level indicator is not functioning correctly, or a chemical dose is late. This cascading effect causes an entire process sequence to become out of balance. To assist with this type of incident, Perfect Automation & Innovation builds Water Treatment Plant Panels specifically for the purpose of providing more control of the process sequence when the facility runs continuously (24/7). These panels are designed as per the actual treatment stages, which includes incoming raw water, chemicals, filtration, backwash, and clear water transfer. They are not designed per any standard drawdown; instead, they are designed around the specific layout and equipment of the plant.
Each of the treatment stages will function as an individual treatment station, but they can operate as one complete treatment system (bypassing). Some drives operate automatically via the PLC logic, while others will typically continue to operate manually when the devices are being serviced. Each of the interlocks between the pumps, valves, and level transmitters will be wired so that the devices cannot be misoperated between shifts. The VFD feeders for the intake and transfer pumps are sized accordingly to accommodate their frequent starts and wet environment duty. Soft starters are utilized in areas where hydraulic stress needs to be controlled.
To minimize false and erroneous signals from field devices during operation, the internal cabling for power and signal must be kept separate. We also provide clear indications for every loop on each panel to facilitate rapid troubleshooting when operations are ongoing in the facility. By doing this, indicators such as Tank Levels, Pump Status', Chemical Dosing Runs and Fault Alarms will be clearly visible through the access door(s).
All Factory Accepted test procedures include 'simulations' of low tank levels; high tank levels; pump failures and/or pump standby changeover(s). Once approved (by way of a series of simulated tests) at the factory, the panel(s) will then be shipped to the job site where they can be put into service with enough data to manage continuous flow; variable demand; as well as operator action without affecting process operations in any way.
