Power Distribution Board

The most common electrical problems originate in buildings not from the main source, but rather at the level of distribution when multiple outgoing circuits share instantaneous loads. For this reason, our focus on building Power Distribution Boards revolves around the stability and safety of supplying power to downstream.

Each Power Distribution Board is designed based on the review of connected load; diversity factor and scope for future growth. We do not design for uniformed load. When designing lighting circuits, HVAC circuits, receptacle circuits, and feeding small equipment circuits; these circuits will act independently of each other. Therefore, the busbar rating; size of incoming circuit breaker; and protection afforded to each outgoing circuit is based upon the actual usage profile of connected loads. The size of the neutral and earth bar is also calculated to minimize any potential imbalances.

The internal arrangement of cables and associated device terminations is planned to allow clear cable routing and safe termination. Adequate space is provided between circuit breakers for heat dissipation. Proper labeling and phase identification is provided to ensure that maintenance personnel will be able to trace circuit paths without confusion.

These Power Distribution Board assemblies are typically found in commercial buildings, industrial facilities, warehouses, utilities and infrastructure projects throughout the United States. Each assembly is tested for insulation, continuity and mechanical integrity prior to shipment.
