Electric VFD Control Panel Details

The control of motors and energy efficiency can be achieved by using an electric variable frequency drive (VFD). VFD Control Panels are used in industrial situations requiring variable speed control.

Electric VFD Control Panels help you regulate the performance of a motor's energy consumption as well as its mechanical wear by providing the ability to control the motor over time with reduced energy costs.

The design of each Electric VFD Control Panel is based on an assessment of the motor rating, type of load, and how often the load will be cycled through. A VFD is selected according to the current and voltage that will be delivered to the motor, as well as the expected duty cycle. Acceleration and deceleration ramps, torque limits, and protection settings will be established based on the actual operating conditions of the motor/application. For example, with pump, fan or conveyor applications, we will ensure smooth starting and stopping to minimize unexpected load shocks.

The layout of the internal panel is efficiently arranged. The power and control circuits are separated from one another to decrease the potential for one circuit to interfere with the other. Proper ventilation and heat dissipation are provided. The method of wiring is arranged so that it is easy to identify every wire, ultimately simplifying maintenance and future expansions of the panel as necessary. Additional contacts and communication ports are provided on the panel for integration with a PLC or SCADA or both, when capabilities exist to monitor and control.

All Electric VFD control panels are subjected to simulated loading conditions at the time of testing to ensure proper operation, verification of protection settings, and testing fault handling procedures before shipping to the customer. These panels are used throughout the United States in industrial facilities, commercial buildings, and many process applications where dependable variable speed control and energy optimization are an absolute necessity. Please provide us with your motor/load specifications and we will provide a recommendation for configuring your installation.
