When multiple supply sources are relied upon to feed a facility with power, the reliability of that power is critical. This is why we manufacture the Socomec Changeover Switch. Our focus is to enable smooth, safe switching between the main and alternate power lines without interrupting connected systems.

Each switch is designed to endure the real-world stresses of operation. The switch's contacts are capable of carrying the rated current repeatedly without overheating. The mechanical operation of the switch has been tested for thousands of cycles to ensure a long service life. The position indicators have been designed to be easy for the operator to see, thus allowing them to always know the status of the source supplying power to the system at any given moment. Internal insulation and arc suppression have been verified to eliminate potential hazards.

These switches are used in a variety of industries including manufacturing plants, commercial buildings, hospitals, and cold storage facilities where the downtime associated with loss of power would be detrimental to their productivity. The switches easily integrate into distribution panels, motor control centers, and backup generator systems. Interlock features have been incorporated to prevent connecting to multiple sources of supply (no single switch can be connected to more than one source of incoming power at any one time).

We provide on-site support during the installation of the changeover switch including ensuring proper mounting locations, cable terminations, and verifying the integrity of the installation under load. We also assist commissioning teams with testing the changeover switch under various load conditions to ensure that the changeover switch is capable of providing smooth operation during normal operation.

The changeover switches are designed and manufactured to meet the real load requirements of the customer, including continuous operation and frequent switchovers, while maintaining the availability of electrical power to the equipment connected to the changeover switches.
