Schneider Modicon M340 PLC Details

Selection of the right controller in process automation can affect stability of production processes, unit troubleshooting time, and future growth. We choose to use Schneider’s Modicon M340 PLC on all of our medium and large control systems because they provide a high degree of performance stability and they have very flexible architectures that can handle multiple field signals, numerous communications networks, and many logically programmed functions per application without any degradation in performance over time.

The hardware architecture lends itself to very fast processing and modular expansion, which will also add value in the fact that this type of system provides flexibility in your project scope after the initial commissioning. The various I/O configurations, different communication options, and the ability to integrate into multiple networks allows the field equipment to interface with drives, HMIs, SCADAs and remote stations without the reliance on multiple layers of control, which allows for faster and more predictable responses from the system to the operator.

The programming of the system is designed to be structured and serviceable allowing for maintenance teams to trace faults and re-program logic without the need for extended outages. Diagnostic features and clear status indication aid during the operation of the system when quick decisions have to be made. The controller is reliable in assembly manufacturing lines, water treatment systems, material handling, and energy management applications.

Integration of the panel includes proper power segregation, signal routing, and heat management ensuring long-term operating life. We consider this PLC to be a controller but also as the reliable core of our continuous production and the means by which we control the flow of processes, and provide seamless data communication over the plant's network.
