Soft Starters, ATS22, ATS48, ATS480, ATS01

When large motors start, they generate a substantial amount of electromagnetic forces (EMF) through inductance and capacitance, which puts mechanical stress on the electrical systems connected to them. These electrical systems can be damaged by the sudden surge of current that occurs when a motor starts. That's why we manufacture soft starters: devices that allow for controlled acceleration and deceleration of motors while operating (i.e., start/stop).

Our soft starters are classified into four different models: ATS22, ATS48, ATS480, and ATS01. Each model has been designated for use based on the size of the motor, its voltage, and type of load being driven. The ATS22 soft starter was designed specifically for small motors where space is limited. The ATS48 and ATS480 are intended for medium- and heavy-duty applications. The ATS01 soft starter was designed specifically for applications requiring precise control. Upon selection of the appropriate model, we will configure the acceleration/deceleration ramp profiles to match actual load conditions (as compared to simply using rated or theoretical limits). Additionally, we will apply overload or fault protection settings based on actual operational data collected from these soft starters to prevent nuisance tripping.

Panel integration takes into consideration cable entry space, heat dissipation, and separation of power and control circuits. Each Soft Starter includes auxiliary contacts and a remote start/stop interface to connect to a PLC or monitoring system. Wiring will be organized to enable ease of maintenance.

Prior to shipments, each Soft Starter is load tested to ensure the start/stop sequence of operation works as intended, the protective function is working correctly, and the system responds to fault conditions as designed. These Soft Starters are being used in industrial plants, commercial buildings, and process facilities across the United States that require motor protection, soft start capability, or energy-efficient operation.
