Schneider Variable Speed Drive

Every day we experience many different types of variable speed needs. A motor is not used in a constant speed mode. The load can shift and the process may change, which is why we emphasize Schneider's Variable Speed Drive that was designed to provide precise control of motor speed, protect the equipment from excess loading and respond quickly when demand changes.

When we determine the drive's size, we base it on the actual motor load that we measured and do not provide the manufacturer’s data. When we select wiring, fuses and protective devices, we only do so after confirming the motor's thermal limits and startup currents. All drives panels are also designed for access to the technician during service and can be configured for future expansion. We never consider the drive to have been "successfully installed" until the drive system has adequate ventilation.

We regularly utilize drives in HVAC equipment, conveyor systems, pumps and industrial machinery where continuous speed control of the motor is critical. The drive also provides programmable features that allow ramping up or down (or either) of the motors, controlling the motor(s) via torque command, monitoring load changes, etc. The technician has an uncomplicated interface to work with, while being fully programmable for automation.

Installation does not end once the drive is delivered to the site; we continue to support our customers with all necessary commissioning, fine-tuning and load tests. After the commissioning is complete, we will adjust the protection parameters onsite to ensure proper protection of the drive(s). We anticipate any possible fault and create management plans for resolving those issues before they can create a production problem.

By designing the Drives to work under actual operating conditions, not under ideal conditions, our drives provide better efficiency, longer drive life and less downtime. Every drive that we provide has gone through testing and validation to ensure they will be capable of meeting actual operational requirements in the plant where they are being utilized anywhere throughout the U.S.
