Schneider Servo Cable VW3M5102R50 Details

There are many factors that can cause a decrease in servo performance and wouldn’t necessarily show on the drive display, for instance communication lag, fluctuating feedback, intermittent alarm conditions, etc. are typically caused by the cable connecting the motor with the control cabinet. Schneider has accordingly developed the VW3M5102R50 cable with these operational characteristics (long travel distances, continuous flexing and exposure to electrical noise) in mind as the standard duty for all motion systems to maintain repeatable precision through each cycle of operation.

The conductors have been sized appropriately to allow for the transmission of rated loads without generating excessive heat along the entire length of the cable. Fine stranded conductors provide for smooth movement of cables through drag chains and support high cycle life applications. The shielding design of each conductor provides protection from interference that could diminish encoder communications when routed through cabinets with near proximity to switching devices and high amp feeders. The outer jacketing is designed to withstand oil contact, physical abuse from abrasion and mechanical stress which are common in automated processes.

The connectors are factory-terminated, ensuring the correct pin configuration and reducing wiring time at startup. The secure locking mechanism avoids disruption of signals caused by vibration or sudden acceleration. The routing and length of the cables are matched with the movement of the axis to prevent excessive looping and delay of response.

All units are tested prior to delivery for continuity, insulation resistance and shielding.

These cables are used in CNC machines, robotic handling systems, gantry automation systems and high-speed packaging equipment where accurate placement, stable motion control and uninterrupted feedback have a direct effect on the quality of production and the uptime of the system.
