Process lines do not typically run at a single, constant speed; a Variable Frequency Drive (VFD) panel that has been engineered correctly will change the way power is consumed and controlled. At Perfect Automation & Innovation, we build these panels with a clear understanding of the real operating loads on the motor, acceleration patterns of the line, and the physical conditions of the site (as opposed to simply mounting the drive). The goal is to speed control without putting excess strain on the motor or disrupting the electrical network.
Every VFD panel will have a clearly defined electrical path from input to output. Input isolation, protection with semiconductor devices, line reactors or a harmonic mitigating device will be selected based on the quality of electrical power supply. The output side or configuration of the panel will be based on the length of motor cables, type of insulation, and required response to torque loading. This process prevents overheating, premature bearing failure, and unwanted trips to production during operating hours.
