Power Factor Correction Panel Details

Most utility penalties do not arise because of connected load; they exist because of poor power factor operating silently behind the scenes. Power Factor Correction Panels maintain a disciplined electrical system while inductive loads are at full use (i.e., not overloaded).

Perfect Automation & Innovation configures every panel after analysis of load variation, transformer ratings, harmonics within the system. Any corrections based on theoretical formulas often will not perform well in actual applications.

The configuration of the capacitor bank is properly sequenced in accordance with the calculated required amount of reactive power to be supplied to the electrical system. Providing only the necessary amount of reactive power prevents overcorrection during periods of low current (when the business has a little amount of electrical load).

Heavy duty capacitor contactors, tuned reactors for harmonic environments in conjunction with microprocessor relays provide stable performance when multiple motors are required to start at once while maintaining fast & effective switching response.

Heat dissipations, ventilation routes and busbar current densities are measured and designed as performance characteristics for continuous operations. An operator is able to check the system’s performance via indicators for step status, power factor trend and alarm conditions without opening the enclosure. Ample space for cable termination and maintenance is planned for practicality

Testing will be performed to confirm the sequence of the step switching, the accuracy of certain relay(s) and maintenance of insulation. The final panel has demonstrated a reduction of maximum demand, increased voltage stability, released transformer capacity and produced quantifiable energy savings for the industrial and commercial electrical distribution system.
